Julie, it is concerning to us that you are disappointed and that we didn’t meet your expectation for your rain gutter system. We discussed with Destry, at the time of our inspection, our concerns and potential issues if we installed gutters on your home. The roofing company that installed your roof did not overhang the shingles per manufacturer recommendations. In addition, there is no metal edge. There is a drip board but the primary issue is the shingles don’t extend pass that drip board far enough. The professional opinion we did offer, to Destry, prior to bidding & installing your gutters, was wind driven rain, due to your close proximity to the ocean, may run down your fascia and behind your gutters as a result of the incorrect shingle installation completed by another roofing contractor during the construction of the home. Please contact our office directly if you would like to work towards other alterative solutions as we always strive to provide the best functioning system for each unique home improvement project.
